New Release: Loving, Living, and Legends by Jack Horne

EPT readers, it’s a new release! Jack Horne is back, exploring the complexities of life, love, and the supernatural in his new poetry collection, Loving, Living, and Legends. This collection comes as a follow-up to the collection Shades of Darkness and Light, also available through the ETP store.

This collection of poetry touches on a plethora of subjects, from humorous vignettes, to pieces delving into the grief of death. While the familiar themes of loneliness and loss can find resonance within all of us, Jack handles them with a sense of hope, rather than one of despair. Jack loves to write humor, and his hope with this work is that, though many of the poems deal with serious matters, readers will find laughter as well as empathy. After all, the failure of a relationship or death of a loved one are experiences fraught with grief, but also sometimes with humor that perhaps we would leave untouched if not for someone else saying “No, I’ve felt this way, too!”.

We hope that through the pages of this collection, you find a bit of yourself, and that Jack’s words tap into a bit of the human experience in all of us.

For more on Jack Horne’s work, visit his website at www.jackhorne.blogspot.co.uk.

The Dark Angel takes Karlis on a supernatural odyssey spanning time and places beyond the imagination.
Genre: Fantasy, Thriller

The first book of the series, is set in Latvia.

A successful Latvian lawyer named Karlis Stucka, meets Satan's First Dark Angel in human form, in a Riga ghetto. Karlis experiences a terror filled evening of unnatural events, as he is taken through the intense phases of training to become the Dark Angel's Lieutenant.

Karlis is chosen by Satan to become the highest ranking human, as a reward for becoming the youngest High Priest at age thirteen. Karlis and five of his teenaged friends conduct their first blood sacrifice, full moon ritual, which his Book Of Satan calls the gateway ritual. Karlis alone has the ability to read the book. His friends see only blank pages.

Karlis learns how to switch bodies, using the corpse of an albino African girl, who commits suicide by jumping over a waterfall. Karlis uses the body of the young lady, to become a gypsy queen, who leads a troop of recently resurrected dead actors and circus performers.

Karlis is groomed by Satan's First Dark Angel to practice mental and mystical feats. He receives constant reminders to discard logical thinking, which hampers his ability to perform his otherworldly activities.

Karlis is mandated to build an army of Devil Worshippers, in preparation for the second coming of Christ.

The First Dark Angel of Satan is worried about a Tibetan Monk, who was born at the same moment as Karlis. Both Karlis and the other baby have the three main ingredients that allows ascension above all other humans on the Dark Side.

The First Dark Angel loses communication with the other baby, when circumstances led him to the halls of a Tibetan Monastery. The Monk has the power to overturn Satan's plan. However, as long as he remains within the walls of the Monastery, he remains safe from Satan's reach.

Happy Release Day! The Late, Great Benjamin Bale by John Joseph Doody

The Late, Great Benjamin Bale, Book Two of The Guild Saga is available now!

The destinies of two men depend on Maggie Thorn. One is dying and the other is dead...or is he?

Captain Maggie Thorn is on a formal Guild mission, supposedly to kidnap the yazz scientist, Gravian Endrenicus, and return him to Thandimone. But she also has a personal score to settle with the lizard-like inhabitants of Timmerus. She intends to make the yazz pay for what they did to Thad Cochran—the one the yazz call the Thieves Guild pilot. The man she loves.

Supreme Fleet Commander, Admiral Geoff Grangore knows of only one man who could get Maggie to Timmerus and back while traitorous eyes are watching. That man is an old drunk who lives deep in the Thandimonean wilderness with his pet Eno, Snot. Benjamin Bale is suicidal and cantankerous, and Maggie can’t stand him—at first.

Bale is a dead man. At least, that’s what everyone was told. But this dead man has a final mission to perform. The greatest star pilot in the galaxy has a chance to redeem himself and make right a great wrong. A wrong which he can never forgive or forget. A wrong that cost him everything.

And don’t forget to see how this all started in The Wonk Decelerator, Book One of The Guild Saga.

Okay, I'm slightly prejudiced being that this is an eTP Author AND I edited this book (as well as the first one). However, John pens a fabulous tale of a dashing pilot and a feisty, strong-willed female star cruiser captain mixed with an endearing cast of characters that I love to spend time with. This is not a romance for you science fiction die-hards; however, it has romantic elements for the romantically inclined. Through in some actione, fight scenes and spaceship battles and you have all the makings of a delightful space adventure. And while you can read The Late, Great Benjamin Bale alone, you'll miss out if you don't have your copy of The Wonk Decelerator.

Congratulations, John!

Welcome Joy, glad to see you could make it today! Pull up a seat, have a cup of joe, and lets chat!
Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome!

eTP: What drew you to writing?

JB: I think more than anything, my love of reading. At an early age, I dreamed of putting my thoughts down on paper. I believe all writers have an inborn desire to expess their ideas. I want to share my stories, but more important to me, is for people to enjoy reading my work.

eTP: Why Historicals? And what other genres do you write?

JB: I love Hitoricals! All through school, my favorite subject was history, especially the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries. My love of royalty, and the age of chivalry, made my choice of genres easy. I write Fiction, Gothic, Historical Romance, and Medieval Period works.

eTP:  If you could pick one genre you've never written but would love to what would it be and why?

JB: Thats easy, Sci-Fi. I may one day give this a try. I have a lot of ideas about this. A space ship, with aliens, or possibly, a time traveler. This would take me into a new, exciting era. The future is as intriging as the past.

eTP: How long have you been writing?

JB: Full time, three years now. I did dabble a few years ago, but when my first submission was declined, I decided maybe writing wasn't for me after all. One morning three years ago, I woke up and made a decision to live my dream. I had a story in my head I desperately wanted to put on paper. I haven't looked back.

eTP: If someone who is just looking to get published were to approach you what would you tell them is the most important thing for them to do?

JB: I would tell them to do some research. There are many sites out there with wonderful information on how to write, where to go to find a publisher, what the market is like, and what to look for in a contract. Getting advice from other authors is also imperative. Some of the best advice I received was to look into the world of ebooks. It is a fast growing market.

eTP: Thank you so very much for stopping by, Joy. Its been great to have you and to get a chance to read this amazing story. Its such a great read and a lot of fun to.

JB: Thank you, eTreasures its been my pleasure. I would like to take a moment to say thank you to my family and friends. They have been such a support to me. Having the backing of those you love is inspiring. I also want to thank my publisher, editor, cover designer, and all those who have helped get my books out there to the public. I would like to giveaway a ebook copy of Fourth Son. I hope the person who receives it, enjoys the read. For those who would like to contact me, I would love to hear from you.
